Kareem Arteen is an Egyptian photographer whose work seeks to document and preserve the traditions, customs and culture of Upper Egypt. We featured his series capturing the Coptic pilgrimage to the Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Dronkah, Egypt, an event he grew up hearing about from his family and that he’s now finally been able to visit himself.
