In November 2020, acclaimed photographer Ronan Mckenzie launched HOME: a north London creative hub encompassing a gallery space, open workspace and library, with the goal of championing the work of BIPOC artists. Last month WePresent collaborated with Ronan to host The Self Portrait, an exhibition at HOME that saw 13 Black women photographers create their own powerful self portraits, posing the question "What do self-portraits say about power, or the amount of care we give to others and not ourselves?”
This month, exclusively for our WeTransfer Pro members, we have collaborated with Ronan to host The Self Portrait workshop, an introduction to self portraiture by Ronan Mckenzie and fellow photographers Lucie Rox and Christina Nwabugo. Throughout the below workshop you will learn how they approach their practice, and receive guidance from the artists in order to create your own personal artwork.
