London-based Victoria Fiore is an Italian documentary director, editor and producer. She has created work for the New York Times Op-Docs, i-D Magazine, VICE News, and the BBC to name a few. Victoria (together with Aleksandra Bilic) produced and directed documentary “Sounds of Tehran” – the short film commissioned by WePresent about Iranian sound artist Nesa. Passionate about subliminal messaging through sound, Victoria wanted to avoid the Western gaze that so much journalism and documentary-making about Iran falls victim to. We spoke to the women behind the film, what it felt like to make, and why the future feels hopeful for women in the industry there.
