Caribbean-German artist Noah McBeth, aka NoMBe, has a distinctly modern approach to music-making: Rather than going into the studio with the intention of recording a cohesive album, he prefers to look at each track as a single without being tied to one musical direction. In doing so, he’s able to move easily between genres without the burden of being put in a box, flitting from rock, R&B and electro to soul, blues, and funk. NoMBe featured on WePresent as part of a series of special sessions recorded with the hugely popular YouTube channel COLORS at their studio in Berlin. In an accompanying interview, he opened up to us about breaking free of genre and being babysat by Chaka Khan.
