Nhu Xuan Hua is an artist based in Paris, where she was born and raised in the suburbs by Vietnamese parents. Goring up, she often felt a sense of disconnect to her roots, and much of her personal work is geared towards gaining a deeper understanding of her heritage. Her book, “Tropism, Consequences of a Displaced Memory” makes up a part of this journey, as she presents a series of digitally-altered family photographs, a commentary on how memories, emotions and traumas can be both inherited and lost.
