Myah Asha Jeffers is a London-born, Barbados-raised, award-winning artist working across photography, theater and film, whose work focuses on witnessing and documenting the nuances of daily life within diasporic communities. WePresent collaborated with Jeffers to commission her debut short narrative film, “Bathsheba,” a moving portrait of grief, loneliness and ultimately healing, inspired by Jeffers’ own experiences of documenting London life. The film had its world premiere at Toronto’s Inside Out Film Festival (TIFF Lightbox) and its UK premiere at S.O.U.L Film Festival at the BFI, winning Best Performance and garnering nominations for Best Film and Best Director.
