Morteza Niknahad is an Iranian artist, photographer, and filmmaker living in the coastal city of Bandar Abbas. He’s held photo exhibitions across the world, in Brazil, Germany, France, China, Sweden, and more, but always returns to the Persian Gulf, which he calls “my only source of reassurance.” We featured his project “Southern Winds,” which began in 2017 and looks to capture everyday life for the coastal communities around the Strait of Hormuz.
