Jesse Kanda is an artist and animator based in London. Born in Japan, Jesse is known for his ability to balance aesthetic beauty with the grotesque. He’s created visuals and collaborated with FKA Twigs, Arca, and Hood by Air. It was perhaps his best known collaboration that brought him to us when he featured in the first film of our video series Work In Progress - a series which explores how artists fuse different energies to create - with his friend, collaborator and artistic soulmate Björk. For her music video “Arisen My Senses,” their mutual adoration for giant slug-type-creatures, and ability to find awe where most of us would look away, made them a powerful combo.
