Dahlia Dandashi is a Dubai-rased, New York-based multidisciplinary artist. Born in Houston to a Lebanese and Syrian family, she traces her obsession with color partly back to childhood visits to Syria and Lebanon—colorful tiles surrounding fountains in Syrian homes, or the remnants of a demolished building in Beirut revealing that it was once painted pink. We featured her project “Our Gods Are In The Details,” made up of moments where the sacred and the everyday unexpectedly meet in Beirut.
