After completing his graphic-design studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart under the famed illustrator Heinz Edelmann, the young Christoph Niemann moved to New York in 1997. There, his diversity of styles and mediums, his experimental mindset, the quality of his output, and the sheer quantity of his ideas made him a go-to for its magazines and newspapers. His work soon appeared on the covers of the New Yorker, National Geographic, Newsweek, and the New York Times Magazine, among others. Today, he is established as one of the leading figures in the industry, charged with drawing live at the Venice Art Biennale and the London Olympic Games, creating the New Yorker’s first augmented-reality cover, and producing design solutions for such storeyed clients as Hermès, Google, Nike, Microsoft, and MoMA in New York.
