Children of the Light are a duo of Amsterdam-based artists who harness the power of light to create mesmerizing visual experiences. The pair, made up of Oslo-born Christopher Gabriel and Amsterdam native Arnout Hulskamp, transform spaces with their live installations, leaving their audience utterly captivated. Their first collaborative piece, “Mirror Moon,” saw light forms beamed onto a large two-sided mirror to give Darkside concert-goers an immersive high-art experience. Meanwhile, “Between Light” was created by suspending a 25-meter stick of white light in Amsterdam’s Oude Kerk (Old Church). We spoke to the duo about these two projects, as well as a handful of their other standout artworks.
