Bram Janssen is a photojournalist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He joined the Associated Press in 2014 before moving to Iraq to document the war against the Islamic State, and in general his work focuses on the impact of conflict and corruption around the world. We interviewed Bram as part of our annual collaboration with the World Press Photo contest, for which he was a winner in the Stories category of the Asian region in 2022. The project in question saw him document the employees of the Ariana, one of many Kabul cinemas forced to close by the Taliban.
