Originally from Bosnia, Aleksandra Bilic is a filmmaker, writer and producer whose work drew us in through her telling of underrepresented, everyday female stories. We worked with Aleksandra to create the short film “Sounds of Tehran” which follows Nesa, a DJ and producer at the forefront of Iran’s burgeoning underground electronic music scene. Alongside producing work for artists such as Kate Tempest, Aleksandra was also production coordinator for Russian feminist protest group Pussy Riot, and assistant producer for “Smash and Grab; Story of the Pink Panthers.”
